DIM: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Dosage and Supplements

DIM (Diindolylmethane)

Diindolylmethane is a molecule found in foods such as broccoli, kale, and cauliflower. It is commonly added to testosterone boosters and anti-estrogen products due to its aromatase inhibiting properties.

Uses of DIM (Diindolylmethane)

DIM is a compound which is broken down from Indole-3-Carbinol, which can be found in foods such as broccoli, kale, and cauliflower.  

The main reason you’ll see DIM promoted as an aromatase inhibiting supplement is due to a study which showed that 300mg of DIM had antiestrogenic effects. The study also showed that it may be good for thyroid function as well.

Other than that there isn’t too much research on DIM. While it certainly has promise, it certainly needs more research before we recommend going out of your way to supplement with it.

Interactions with DIM (Diindolylmethane)

You’ll typically find DIM as a standalone, or as paired with ingredients commonly found in testosterone boosters/anti-estrogen products. Some ingredients you can expect to find DIM paired with include DAA, Fenugreek, Ashwagandha, and Tribulus.

Side Effects with DIM (Diindolylmethane)

DIM is considered safe to take. Stomach pain, nausea, stiff joints, and headaches are potential side effects. Always talk to your doctor before supplementing with DIM.

Recommended Dose of DIM (Diindolylmethane)

According to the study mentioned above, 300mg per day is recommended. We suggest starting on the lower side however due to the lack of research on DIM.
