Overview of MAN Sports Lean PhD

LEAN Ph.D was overall effective in what it promised us, solid sustained energy, the loss of water retention and improved mood and focus for hours after consuming. Would it have been nice to see some specific appetite suppression or thermogenic ingredients? But the lack thereof doesn't take away from what LEAN Ph.D does for the lifter. After 4 weeks of taking the product we did have an overall loss of weight and a good increase of productivity during the morning / afternoon.

As with all things, including Fat Burners..make sure your nutrition and training is dialed in to a T before expecting ANY epic results from a fat burning product. Since we were previously squared away on these prior to using LEAN Ph.D we were able to experience the extra benefits of taking a weight loss supplement. Overall we enjoyed LEAN Ph.D, perhaps it may be the extra push you need to shed some weight.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed MAN Sports Lean PhD on three categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile and dosage. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this product. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product. On top of that, we look to see if proper dosages are being used. It is one thing to use cool ingredients, it's another if they are using them appropriately.

RYSE

We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be. With fat burners, you should also feel something - this is part of the effectiveness. It can be appetite control, body temperature (thermogenic) increases, etc.

Finally, we look at value. Value is the combination of the ingredients/dosage, effectiveness, price and comparison products on the market. If the produce is dosed well, with quality ingredients and available at a fair price, the product would be considered valuable.

Ingredients Profile

(8.3/10)

First we have the Fat Oxidation Aid coming in with L-Carnitine-Tartrate dosed at 1g. L-Carnitine-Tartrate is a form of Carnitine that is bonded with Tartaric Acid. This form of L-Carnitine has been shown to assist the lifter with overall recovery. In a study there was evidence showing that the user, while supplementing L-Carnitine-Tartrate had greater hormone production and more power output during lifting. This is also dosed like where we’d like to see it.

Next we have the Anti-Cortisol & Adaptogen Complex with KSM-66 dosed at 600mg. KSM-66 is a herb that has been shown to naturally raise test levels while effectively regulating cortisol levels in the body. 600mg is spot on to where it needs to be. Next in the complex we have L-Theanine dosed at 25mg. L-Theanine is an amino acid that is known for relaxation and mood elevation without sedation. We would like to see this dosed in the least at 50mg so we are a little under here.

Next we have 300mg of Naturocaff99 yielding at 99.5% caffeine, this is a solid dose here. Next we get 200mg of Citrus Aurantium, which has been used in the past as a weight loss ingredient. This a dose is right on the money. Next we have Neurofactor dosed at 100mg. Neurofactor has shown good results in terms of effectively improving the users memory and focus. This is at an acceptable dose.

Theacrine is next on the list dosed at 25mg. Theacrine has been shown to improve energy, focus and overall mood. Currently the proper clinical dosage is not set in stone for this ingredient.

LEAN Ph.D also throws in 10mg of Black Pepper Extract to assist with nutrient absorption.

Now we move onto the Water Drop & Natural Anti-Bloat Formula starting us off with Dandelion Root Extract dosed at 350mg. Dendelion Root Extract has been shown to improve overall hydration and electrolyte regulation. Currently there is no definitive proper dose for this ingredient but we feel good about the 350mg dose.

Next we have Juniper Berry dosed at 150mg. Juniper Berry has been used in times past for its supposed “water pill” effect. According to some studies taking Juniper Berry will allow the user to lose water in the body. Currently there is no set correct dosage for this ingredient.

Lastly we have Uva-Ursi Extract dosed at 125mg. Uva-Ursi Extract is an herb that has been shown to reduce overall inflammation and cause a “drying” effect on the bodies tissues. We are slightly underdosed here due to the standard effective dose starts at 400mg

Effectiveness

(8.0/10)

LEAN Ph.D brings to the table a pretty solid weight loss formula that allows the lifter good, clean energy and focus. Lets break this down into several sub categories to further explain –

 Energy: (8/10)

The energy from Lean Ph.D was just right. No crash at all and most importantly it wasn’t over stimulating. Lean Ph.D was taken every morning around the same time with nothing but good results in terms of energy. With solid doses of Naturocaff99, Citrus Aurantium and NeuroFactor

this energy complex delivered.

Appetite Suppression: (8/10)

Unfortunately within LEAN Ph.D in terms of appetite suppression there isn’t much to speak of. But that’s ok, LEAN Ph.D never touted any appetite suppression formulas so it’s in no way a let down. Nor does it mean that there wasn’t any assistance with suppressing our appetite. After taking the recommended dose of LEAN Ph.D, you are without a doubt “dialed in” and focused. We took this in the morning which led to us being more productive either in the gym, around the house or at work which then led to an unintentional lack of overeating…bingo! “Appetite Suppression”!

Thermogenesis: (6/10)

There was not any noticeable thermogenic effects while taking LEAN Ph.D but then again that was yet another feature that was never promised by this product. LEAN Ph.D takes a different approach on weight loss than say other products by different brands out there. This product may appeal to people who are not the biggest fan of stims or thermos. With that said, it is more focused on energy, appetite suppression, and cortisol control, so perhaps thermogenesis wasn’t in mind with the fomulation.
