Overview of BST Victory Lap

Our time with Victory Lap was well spent. Between the solid pumps, good sustained energy and elevated mood we were pleased with the results of the product. We would have liked to see ingredients like L-Ornithine, Agmatine Sulfate and Beta Alanine dosed a little higher but thankfully the lack thereof does not take away from the overall product here.

The taste will for sure take some getting used to for some but again, it was not awful. With a decent price point and overall quality ingredient formula, we can definitely recommend Victory Lap for those who wish to take a medium stim pre for a ride. You will surely enjoy it!

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed BST Victory Lap on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pre-workout supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that pre-workout will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Strawberry Watermelon.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 6-8oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of pre-workout products on the market.

Ingredients Profile

(8.3/10)

We start off with L-Arginine at 6g. This is spot on where we need to be to reap the possible benefits of the ingredient.  L-Arginine is used to increase Nitric Oxide levels in the blood, however it’s effectiveness is overshadowed by L-Citrulline which has been proven to be extremely more effective with pumps.

Next we have 5g of BCAA’s in the 3:1:1 ratio. BCAA’s are a collection of Amino Acids being, Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. The “need” for supplementing BCAA’s has always been a hot debate between fitness gurus. Bottom line is this – if you regularly consume animal based proteins, then you’re most likely getting your BCAA’s from that. But are we happy to see this in the formula for Victory Lap? Absolutely. It’s always a wise choice to cover all of your bases. Also this dosed where we’d like to see it.

Next we have Citrulline Malate 2:1:1 dosed at 5g. This is sadly a tad bit lower than we’d like to see. Citrulline Malate is L-Citrulline combined with Malic Acid. Citrulline Malate is good as a performance enhancing ingredient because of its ability to increase your blood flow and possibly your endurance as well.

Next we have L-Ornithine at 3g.  L-Ornithine is used in supplements for its anti-fatigue assistance when taken. The studies we found recommended taking a dose of 4-6 grams to reap the full rewards of this ingredient, unfortunately this is just slightly underdosed here.

Now we’re onto L-Taurine at 3g. Taurine is an essential amino acid that is produced by your body naturally. It is known to play an important role in reducing fatigue and muscle damage leading to better performance and strength in the gym. This is dosed exactly where it should be at 3g.

Next we have Beta Alanine at 2g. Beta Alanine enhances athletic performance through increased muscular endurance. This is also the ingredient that gives you the “itchy” feeling, which is why it is a very popular ingredient to be used. Clinical data shows us that the most effective dosage would be from 3.2g – 6.4g. At 2g we are underdosed on this.

Our next ingredient is Agmatine Sulfate dosed at 750mg. Agmatine is a compound in the body that is a derivative of the Nitric Oxide producing amino acid Arginine. This ingredient is used to assist to increase and regulate Nitric Oxide concentration in the blood to help with a good pump. Clinical data suggests that proper dosing is anything over 500mg, with this being at 750g we are solid. Although I would not have complained if it was even dosed in the 1000mg range.

Next we have L-Tryosine dosed at 500mg. L-Tyrosine is a non-essential amino that produces noradrenaline and dopamine which improves cognitive function. This is most effective at 5oomg or more so we are good here.

And now onto the Caffeine. Here we have Caffeine Anhydrous dosed at 200mg. For some this might be a little underdosed for what they are used to. For me? It’s the perfect amount of caffeine. At 200mg i’m able to have a great workout without my blood pressure feeling like it’s about to shoot off into space. We’re good with this dosage.

Lastly we have Eria Jarensis Extract dosed at 150mg. Eria Jarensis, is a neuromodulator on the Central Nervous System  and provides several positive mental effects including increased focus, energy and even an improvement in your mood. Currently there is no official recommended dosage for this is ingredient. Typically though we see dosed between 125mg – 250mg. At 150mg you are still able to reap the benefits of this.

Effectiveness

(8.0/10)

Overall while using Victory Lap we did experience pumps but they were not those “skin ripping” pumps that most users enjoy from their pre’s. As we can see there are several underdosed ingredients in Victory Laps formula, however we were still able to get good lifting sessions in while using the product. If you prefer low stim pre workouts then I would give this product a try and see if it’s for you.

Victory Lap allowed us to get in a solid lifting session without the feeling of being “over stimulated”. For some people this will be exactly what you’re looking for. The BCAA blend is also a great addition to the formula, along with the taurine added as well. The taurine allows us to regulate our electrolytes and stay properly hydrated which is such an awesome bonus.

The added dosage of Eria Jarensis Extract was a smart move for BST. While taking Victory Lap we did notice an overall improvement in mood and mindset, which is absoluely key in progression inside and outside of the gym.

Taste

Strawberry Watermelon: (6.5/10)

The strawberry watermelon scored a tad bit lower than what was expected for a few reasons. When you think of both strawberries and watermelon, you want to imagine a wave of sweetness rolling across your taste buds. Instead, it was surprisingly tart with a slightly bitter aftertaste.  Mind you, this flavor was not terrible but it could stand for some minor tweaking to make it a little more enjoyable for the user.

Mixability

(9.5/10)

We mixed 1 scoop in 10oz of water using our FI Shaker Cup. All in all it mixed extremely well. No floaties and barely any foam to speak of. This was actually surprising due to large serving size (32g) so good job with this BST.

Value

(8.0/10)

Victory Lap is currently for sale on BST’s website for $45.00. At only 20 servings this brings us to around $2.25 per serving. Would I like to see it a tad bit cheaper?, sure. But this is still cheaper than the overpriced coffee you might be buying when you need some quick energy. Overall this is still an acceptable and doable price tag for the product.
