CLEAN+LEAN is an organic all-natural pre-workout powder. This product is not aimed at those who are extreme fitness enthusiasts but care about what they put in their bodies. It is more aimed at the novice weight lifting group of people who only buy organic foods. Ingredients Profile
[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]At first glance CLEAN+LEAN lists an impressive number of attractive ingredients on their 100% transparent label. They have four different components: performance blend, amino acid profile, weight loss blend and antioxidant blend. All four of these components are fantastic if properly dosed. However this product is under dosed in certain key ingredients.
The performance blend isn’t too terrible. It does have 1g of L-Citrulline and .5g of beta alanine. For those that have never used beta alanine this would be enough for them to feel the effects. The amino acid blend, although not completely necessary in a pre-workout catalyst, is vastly under dosed. It has a 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs but only .5g of them. This isn’t enough to make any improvements in muscle recovery. The L-Glutamine is dosed at 250mg which like BCAAs is under dosed.
The weight loss blend contains green tea extract and caffeine. Both proven to speed up metabolism. There is 100mg of caffeine which is the equivalent of a cup of coffee. For those who do not drink caffeine this could be sufficient in aiding in your workout energy.
Lastly, the antioxidant blend looks very attractive. Effectiveness
[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Since CLEAN+LEAN is not directed towards serious lifters like myself, in my opinion, I brought my wife in to be the product tester. She has only taken BCAA’s and aminos with energy in the past. She’s never taken a pre-workout product.She did indicate that she had an increase in body temp while using this prior to her workouts. This would be the beta alanine that we talked about in the profile section. At this dosage even a novice may feel the effects. She also indicated that this product made her shaky at times. This is the energy component which would be the beta alanine and the green tea extract/caffeine kicking in. So to that point it was fairly effective for her.

Taste
Blueberry Pomegranate: [/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]This is one of the more underwhelming parts of this pre-workout. If you’ve ready any of our prior reviews on PWOs you know we don’t care too much about taste because PWOs are meant to be taken quickly 15-30 minutes prior to your lift but we know some people like to sip on their pre-workout as they make the drive to the gym.
With that being said I wasn’t a fan of the raspberry lemonade flavor of PRE HAK. Mixability

This was the case with CLEAN+LEAN. Typically when we see this the product has to provide some exceptional benefits to justify that price tag. This is an organic, all-natural vegan product so we do know with that comes a higher price tag, rightfully so.However, because we felt this product was under dosed and the effectiveness was only a little bit of additional energy in the gym we cannot justify spending that type of money on this product. Now we are not a 100% organic/vegan family so if you are you may feel differently about this price tag and what you get.
