Overview of Granite Supplements Pre-Mium

Granite Supplements is a solid brand owned by John Meadows aka mountaindog1. John is a very well respected fitness coach in the industry that many top tier bodybuilders look up too.  John's passion for health and fitness lead him to create Granite Supplements to provide a better alternative to what is currently out in the market today.

Granite Supplements Pre-Mium is a pre-workout supplement that was formulated with overall performance in mind as opposed to a stimulant-bomb. Pre-Mium uses some well-known performance enhancers such as L-Citrulline and Beta-Alanine, as well as Creatine Monohydrate. It also provides Caffeine Anhydrous, TeaCrine, and Lion's Mane for energy and focus. Pre-Mium may bring your workouts to another level in a safe and non-overpowering manner.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed Granite Supplements Pre-Mium on five categories. We first start by looking at its ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pre-workout supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that pre-workout will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Watermelon

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 6-8oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. We use the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, the Ice Shaker.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of pre-workout products on the market.

Ingredients Profile

(8.3/10)

granite pre-mium label

The ingredient profile looks to purpose address some aspects in full and others purposely in portion. Both citrulline forms yield at least 5g total of citrulline, above the clinical 4g dose. Creapure is at 3g in here, which Creatine may help with power output, and at 3g, is dosed well in here.

Betaine works well between 1.5g-2.5g for ‘water pump’ and strength output, especially when paired alongside creatine. The 1.8g of Beta-Alanine goes along with the modest approach of dosing throughout the daily and on a daily basis, instead of a single 3.2g dose.

The Cognitive blend of ingredients were formulated for performance and focus aspects over high level stimulation. Caffeine dosage between 200mg-275mg has been found as an ideal sweet spot for the performance benefits without the jitters and uncomfortable mood.

Caffeine with either Lion’s Mane or Teacrine alone would create a dialed in focus blend. So putting this trio together will work considerably better to dial you in. The TeaCrine® in here at 100mg is nice to see and provides long lasting energy without a crash. We would like to see the NALT switched to regular L-Tyrosine as it has been shown to be superior.

Overall, the profile is solid and is more versatile. It’s not meant to crack you out, but it should provide the energy and pumps that everyone can enjoy for any kind of workout.

Effectiveness

(8.7/10)

This is where you see a name like John Meadows, as the face of a brand, and understands that the product performs along with his way of doing things. We wouldn’t expect a stir-bomb from the man himself, so really we’re getting what we’d expect from John.

Pre-mium really brings the performance whether you’re doing ramp-up sets, working sets, volume, rest-pause work, 5/3/1, etc. After the 30-45 minute wait for the stimulant to kick in, it begins to show that the profile is not very aggressive. Those with a heavy stim tolerance may not notice much at all. However those with an understanding of mood and focus will notice the elevated mood and higher sense of control.

The energy is solid and not over-bearing, and the pumps are noticeable as well. While there is nothing too fancy in here besides maybe the Lion’s Mane, it still works well as a pre-workout that is geared more towards performance as opposed to a pre-workout that is geared for crackheads.

Taste

Watermelon: (7.4/10)

My experience was with the Watermelon Candy. Given the formula is naturally flavored and dye free, the watermelon flavor comes through surprisingly well. It’s a subtle flavor that, although not powerful or sweet, it navigates the obstacles of heavy ingredients and natural standard of the product. I am personally not fond of watermelon flavoring, which gives value to how Granite managed to flavor this pre-workout.

Mixability

(8.5/10)

Pre-mium is one of the tougher mixes that you may encounter. No matter the amount of water used, to get the best mix is to use room temperature water. After a moment the heavier ingredients will settle at the bottom. Be sure to continue shaking briefly as you drink it.

We used the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, The Ice Shaker.

Check out the video above for a full mixability test.

Value

(7.8/10)

You can get Pre-Mium for around $48, which may seem steep at first glance, especially for a pre-workout with 20 servings.

With that said, we have to look at the ingredients in here. Granite uses some high-quality ingredients at good doses as well. For example the TeaCrine and Lion’s Mane are two great ingredients, so you’re not simply getting a huge dose of Caffeine in here along with some sketchy exotic stimulants. You’re getting a well-rounded pre-workout that will deliver good clean energy and solid performance.
