That’s why we’re a big advocate of taking this product intraworkout.You can elect to go with one scoop to make this unit a 40-serving unit, or two scoops turning it into a 20-serving container. We will focus on one scoop for this review.
One serving contains 5g of 2:1:1 ratio InstaAminos. This is the clinically backed ratio of BCAAs to aid with muscle recovery and reducing lactic acid build up. InstaAminos are intended to be absorbed quicker than other forms of aminos. The area in which Reconstruct isn’t clear, and thus they take a hit on their score, is whether or not these are fermented aminos. Compound Solutions, the maker of InstaAminos, offers both, but the label doesn’t state vegan.
You’re also going to get 2.5g of Glutamine and 250mg of Sustamine Glutamine. This aids with digestion, stomach health and some studies state it helps aid in recovery, although many recent studies indicate it does more for gut health. This is a decent dosage of Glutamine in an intra/post workout.
Clinical Labs tosses in 1g of L-Carnitine. This aids in fat loss by transporting fatty acids in the body to be burned off as fuel. This is a really good dose for one serving. We also get 1g of Taurine, which aids in strength output. Taurine can be dosed from 1-2g. We are a fan of this.
Lastly, you are getting your electrolyte/hydration mix of Magnisium Citrate, Potassium Gluconate, Sodium Chloride and Calcium Citrate for a total of 250mg. A nice addition to an already good intra workout profile.
Overall, this is really good. The only thing lacking is the word fermented or vegan. This is a direct extension of the ingredient profile.You’ve already read how well we think of this profile. Since they use a 2:1:1 BCAA ratio at a serving of 5g (10g if you use 2 scoops) this becomes an effective amino product. But it’s so much more. With the addition of Glutamine, Taurine, Carnitine and the electrolytes, you get an all-in-one recovery drink that is effective at aiding in recovery, strength output, energy production and hydration.

The other is you can look at the competitive set and find other BCAA products out there priced for less with more servings. With more studies coming out debunking Glutamine’s effect on recovery, this brings it into question. HOWEVER, there is still Taurine, Carnitine and the hydration component.With all that said, it’s worth the money. They go up against stiff competition in the category, not only bars, but other cookies like MyCookie from ProSupps. Overall, SINFIT Cookies pack in 20g of protein and 30g of carbs into a small, delicious coated cookie. The price is nice too. These have less carbs and more protein than the MyCookie from ProSupps. That makes it a better profile in the cookie category. The protein comes from a combination of whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. We can dig that. There are a lot of ingredients on the deck.
There is soy protein in this, but that’s not unusual in the industry. What is unique is they add in Tumeric into the deck. Out of the remaining ingredients, nothing concerns us too much. It is a cookie, so you don’t want several a day, but be smart about it.

However, birthday cake is new. Birthday cake was my favorite flavor of the two. Chocolate is A LOT of chocolate. If you love chocolate you’ll absolutely love this bar. Peanut butter is the same thing as chocolate. If you like peanut butter, you’ll love this. I like both peanut butter and chocolate but I liked birthday the best of the three.

The texture is too much like a protein bar. They are bit more “dry” and tougher to chew. Looking at some of the protein cookies we’ve tried, they have texture like an actual cookie, more soft and moist. The other cookies we’ve had also give more cookies (12) for roughly the same price. The other cookies don’t have the coating like these do. It is all a personal preference. You can do this by providing effective dosages of common and not-so-common ingredients. RX’D does both.We start with the clinically backed 6g dose of Citrulline Malate 2:1. If your Citrulline is 2:1 with Malate, the dosage is 6-8g. This helps with your muscle pump, which in-turn aids in recovery and growth. Then we get 2g of PeakO2. PeakO2 is from Compound Solutions. It is an expensive ingredient that has been proven to enhance performance through enhanced endurance and increased strength. This is the highest dose I have seen of this in a pre-workout on the market.
Beta Alanine is dosed at 2g. This is slightly lower than the clinically researched and backed 3.2g. Beta Alanine provides that tingly feeling, but it also contributes to improvements in your endurance and strength. Creatine HCl is also used at 2g. This is a typical dose of Creatine HCl (I see it around 3g sometimes), that aids in strength output. Betaine Anhydrous is dosed at 1.5g. Ideally we’d want this at 2.5g, but 1.5g is still acceptable. This aids in strength and power output. Taurine is the last ingredient used to help improve strength and it is dosed at 1g. Effective doses of Taurine range from 500mg to 2g.
Focus is a main point in pre-workouts. RX’D uses 300mg of Alpha GPC (yielding 150mg). I would like to see this at a full 300mg for A-GPC, but it is still a nice addition to improve “tunnel vision.” Caffeine, the ingredient you’ve been waiting for, is dosed at 250mg. An effective dose. We also get 125mg of Theacrine (yielding 75mg of TeaCrine). This is coupled well with caffeine. It acts much like it, except we don’t build a tolerance to it. This is around average for dosing given the caffeine amount.
Overall, a simple ingredient deck using one out of the box ingredient in PeakO2. Effectiveness

With working out at 4am, I always take my preworkout on an empty stomach. With in a few minutes I can feel it kicking it. You get that light face burning feel and light hand tingles. But after starting to workout that fade,s but you get great focus and energy. Most of my workouts last about an 1 1/2 hours and, even after I’m done I still feel like I have plenty of energy to go well into lunch time. Each workout I’m left with a feeling of my muscles feeling full; I feel stronger with each lifting session. Overall it’s a solid pre-workout from what I normally take.

Honestly, it tasted just like Blue Raz. I’m not a huge fan on that flavor, but if I had to drink one I would choose this. To me, most Blue Raz flavors taste like cough medicine. This is actually enjoyable and drinkable.

We’d expect this to mix more poorly than some of the lower serving sizes, but it did a really good job. Here’s your quote:Mixing one scoop in 8oz of water and shaking for about 10-20 secs mixed it up pretty well. Every once in a while you would get some particles floating but nothing to make you feel like it was chalk in your mouth. I’ve had some pre-workouts where you shake it and it foams a lot. Once the foam settled your left with a ton of pre-workout you didn’t get. This did not do that. There was nothing left at the bottom of the shaker cup.

They make me sad because companies continue to make them, knowing that they are glorified crap. Listen, I like the owner of Wild West Nutrition. Nice guy. But this is a product that won’t get a second look from me.It starts with 25mg of GABA. GABA is used to help increase your body’s natural HGH production. At 25mg, you’re basically not getting a thing. To be effective, GABA should be dosed between 3,000-5,000mg.
Then we get 200mg of caffeine sources from Caffeine Anhydrus (150mg) and Di-Caffeine Malata (50mg). This is really the only part of the pre-workout that is acceptable. A solid ratio of Caffeine A to Di-Caffeine. Caffeine A will give you the boost right away, and then Di-Caffeine Malate comes in to keep the energy going and avoid the crash.
Citocoline is used for its cognitive enhancing functionality. We get it at 250mg. Citocoline is considered a nootropic. The ideal dosage for this is actually 500mg.
For pump, we get 500mg of Agmatine Sulfate. Sure, I have seen this dosage in other pre-workouts, but it is typically combined with L-Citrulline and other pump ingredients, not as a standalone. We need more.
For strength output we are given 1.5g of Beta Alaine. This should be dosed at 3.2g per clinical research. Then we get 2,500mg of Creatine Monohdrate. No no no. I don’t like Creatine in pre-workouts, and if it is, it shouldn’t be the highest dosed ingredient. This makes me sad. This dosage of Creatine makes up over 53% of the active ingredients in this pre-workout. That’s a no no.
Overall, a pretty poor profile. Not a fan of Creatine being the highest dosed ingredient. Not for what we pay for this thing.

If you’re taking a pre-workout for energy, pump and focus, you should get an ingredient profile that contributes to that. We get 200mg of Caffeine…so energy can be OK, especially for a newbie. However, this is lacking for someone who has a cup of coffee every now and then. Nothing outside the caffeine contributed towards a solid energy rush. My energy levels were low.Focus is another let down area. One under dosed nootropic. C’mon man. This will not cut it for anyone. Very disappointing here.
Pump, same boat. Typically 1g of Agmatine would be good, if it was combined with other pump agents. But nothing.
The lack of energy, focus and pump makes this a non-effective pre-workout. Ingredients Profile

Slappy Hour is a BCAA product consisting of 5g of BCAAs. We have two issues with the 5g profile on Slappy Hour.First, we are not sure where the BCAAs are derived from. We prefer vegan sources, because truth-be-told, the majority of BCAAs come from bird feathers, beaks and human (yes, human) hair. We fear this is where these come from.
Second, we don’t now the ratio of BCAAs in this formula. The clinically studied and proven ratio is 2:1:1. The label on Slappy Hour BCAA just says BCAA blend.
I do like caffeine used in amino products. Especially if you’re not a coffee drinker or a soda/pop drinker. We do get 100mg of Caffeine Anhydrous with the BCAAs which is a positive.
The serving size on Slappy Hour is 11.5. At 5g of BCAAs, 100mg of Caffeine and 304mg of Stevia, that means that over half of this serving size is from other “stuff.” That is a big NO NO in my book.
Overall, the uncertainty on the BCAA makes me question this BCAA. That may be so due to it’s quick absorption and fast digesting features. It’s pure (per the label) so you know it’s going to do what it is supposed to do.
One area I wanted to touch on is stomach bloat. You get NONE of that with this protein powder. Some get it due to lactose, others get it due to crappy protein. At first taste, it is good. Bu then something happens. This weird after taste kicks in and it is overbearing to the flavor.
This didn’t taste exactly like oatmeal cookie either. You get a strong cinnamon taste (it does use cinnamon in it) that is overbearing. I think the combination of cinnamon with natural sweeteners takes away from the pleasurable taste.
For Jacked Up Java, this did taste more like a coffee beverage. The weird aftertaste did not exist with this one. However, it starts out with whey protein concentrate over whey protein isolate. Let’s dive into it!Retribution gives you 24g of protein per serving consisting of whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and casein protein. We don’t know how this breaks down, unfortunately, but in the order they are printed on the label means we get more WPC than WPI and more WPI than casein (example would be this: 12g WPC, 8g WPI, 4g casein = 24g of protein). I wish they would disclose this detail for us.
Whey protein concentrate is a solid protein if it is used at 80% quality. WPC can be anywhere from 34 to 80 on the quality scale. This is the most common form of protein powder.
Whey protein isolate is the fastest absorbed and digested protein used. This is essentially the “1st” stage, hence why I would like to see this listed before WPC. WPC would absorb and digest slightly slower than this.
Casein is a solid, underrated protein powder. This is slow digesting. This means that casein feeds your body over a longer period of time. It is generally taken before bed, but I love it in post-workout protein shakes.

[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I think I am the biggest fan of a “3 stage” protein powder, IF, and this is a big IF, the quality protein is up there. I don’t know where we sit at WPC on this protein powder. They could do 22g of WPC34 with 1.5g of WPI and .5g of casein for all I know. I cannot make that assumption safely, but it is possible.This I know, I think the “3 stage” is more effective. You get the quick absorbing and fast digesting WPI first, followed by the most common protein source WPC, then finally have casein feeding you long after your workout.
Your body can only absorb so much protein at once, it is best if you spread this out over time, in my opinion.
So, is this effective?
