Overview of Phantom Nutrition Swoll
Phantom Swoll is a solid pump product, and worth trying out at least once. The effectiveness is comparable to many of the top pump products on the market, the flavor is nice, and the profile is well-rounded.
If you like Glycerol Monostearate, enjoy watery pumps, and good tasting pre-workouts, you’ll certainly like Swoll. While the price is slightly higher than some other pump products, it is certainly worth a try.
Why You Should Trust Our Reviews
- EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more. - FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product. - INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do. - 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed Phantom Nutrition Swole on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pump supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.
We then look at effectiveness. An effective pump produce will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Tropical Splash.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, the Ice Shaker, for the test.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of pump products on the market.
Ingredients Profile
(Phantom Swoll is a 1-2 scoop product. For the sake of simplicity, we are going by the 2 scoop recommendation as we go over the profile)
Phantom Swoll start off with the most popular pump ingredient on the market, L-Citrulline. L-Citrulline has been shown to be beneficial for performance, and it’s well-known as a pump inducer. L-Citrulline converts to Arginine in the body, which is a precursor to Nitric Oxide. This dilates your blood vessels, thus aiding in pumps. We get 6 grams of L-Citrulline in Swoll, which is a solid dose.
The next two ingredients are GlycerPump™ and Agmatine Sulfate. GlycerPump™ is a trademarked form of Glycerol Monostearate (GMS). GMS has been studied and shown to be beneficial for muscular hydration, and we get a solid 5 grams worth in Swoll. This is an above average dose for a pump product, and really nice to see. Agmatine is a metabolite of Arginine, and it has been popular in pump products for years now. It aids in pumps and we get 1 gram in Swoll, which is a good dose.
Nitrosigine® and Norvaline are next. Nitrosigine® is a form of Arginine bound to Silica that has good research backing it as a NO booster. Swoll gives us 750mg, we typically like to see this at 750mg-1.5mg, so it is dosed well here, although we’d prefer it at 1.5 grams. Next up we have L-Norvaline, which is a arginase inhibitor. It prevents Arginine degradation in the body. Swoll gives us 250mg, which is a good dose.
Lastly, we have Black Pepper Extract. Black Pepper contains Piperine, which has been shown to aid in absorption of some ingredients. At 10mg in Swoll, you’re getting more than enough.
Overall, the formula is solid. The L-Citrulline and GlycerPump™ are dosed very well, while the Nitrosigine® and Norvaline are nice touches. Not much to complain about here!
Effectiveness
Just by looking at this formula, you know that Swoll will be effective. 6 grams of L-Citrulline will be effective for the vast majority of us. What really helps Swoll out is the high dose of GlycerPump™. For the most part, you’ll see this dosed around 2-3 grams in most pump products and pre-workouts. Since GMS draws water to the muscle cells, it tends to make you look fuller, especially while you workout. That was certainly the case with Swoll.
The pumps are certainly not as powerful as a product containing Nitrates, however that certainly doesn’t make the product bad. In fact, the high dose of GMS pretty much makes up for it. The pumps are fun and noticeable, and when your muscles look fuller, it puts you in a different mindset when you look at yourself in the mirror on arm day.
Even with minimal carbs pre-workout, it looks as if you had a nice carb-filled meal pre-workout.
Taste
Tropical Splash:
We had the Tropical Splash flavor and it is quite enjoyable. It’s pretty much a peach mango. It’s a nice mixture of sweet and refreshing, and it actually mixes well with other flavored pre-workouts.
Mixability
One worry we had was with the Glycerol Monostearate content of Swoll. While overall, Swoll mixes fine, you will notice some particles that get left on the sides of your shaker cup after you drink it. It’s nowhere near as bad as other products, which was actually impressive. We only found very fine barely noticeable particles on the sides of our shaker cups, so not much to complain about.
We did the mixability test in the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant the Ice Shaker Cup.
Value
At first glance, Swoll will cost you $49.99 directly off of the Phantom website. However, if you use coupon code INFORMANT, you get 15% off. Bringing the cost per serving slightly above $2 per serving. It is higher than some other products on the market, however it certainly isn’t going to crush your wallet.
If you pair it with a stim-based pre-workout, you’ll most likely be able to get by with one scoop and get 40 workouts out of Swoll. Since most pre-workouts have Citrulline in them already, Swoll can make a nice add-on.
